I'd like to say thank you to one of my best friends and the model for this piece, little Miss. Hannah Waddell. I've loved every moment of getting to play and be inspired by this little monkey who has one of the most amazing and playful imaginations I have had the joy to come across. Thank you for always filling my head with new ideas and for reminding me it's ok to get dirty while playing :)

Get Out and Play!
This piece is the first in a series that I'm very excited to share. When I was little, I grew up in an itty bitty town with one blinking stop light and oak trees in the middle of the streets. It was a wonderful place for any kid to really get the best out of those early years. My siblings and I used to imagine the craziest things while playing, from landing on the moon to pretend cooking shows using our backyard plants, it was a time full of some of my fondest memories. "Get Out and Play" is a series to inspire children preoccupied by too many technological distractions to strip down to the basics of their imagination and enjoy the magical years of being a child.
